The principle of the Science Slam quickly explained

The aim is to present your own work, field of research or research topic to a wide audience in an entertaining and understandable way. Whether you want to philosophise about the construction of mattresses, language documentation in New Caledonia or the connection between fake handbags and meat substitutes, anything is possible. A curious audience is ready to be inspired by you and to learn something new.

All aids are permitted and welcome. You can sing, dance, paint, visualise and present however you feel most comfortable. The only two rules are that you keep to the time limit of 10 minutes and that nobody is endangered during your presentation. At the end of the evening, the audience will act as a jury and choose the Science Slam Champion!

Become a slammy yourself

Would you like to be part of the evening? Then join in and register here! We are still looking for slammers who can convince the audience of their research topic with a creative short presentation.
