INNO 128.489 Airborne sound meas.

In this project, the accuracy of mechanical watches is measured using airborne microphones. The limits are tested using a multichannel application as an example.

Situation

A method for measuring the chronometric properties of mechanical watches using airborne sound is developed and tested. The rate, beat error, and the amplitude of the balance wheel are determined. The measurement of mechanical watches using airborne sound is systematically investigated. The goal is to determine the measurement quality as a function of signal strength and the volume of external interference. The expected measurement quality is calculated using models and empirically validated through measurements and investigations.
