Agile cognitive robotics and automatisation

Using systems rather than programming them is the goal of our research group. To achieve this, we make robots and transport systems intelligent so that they can read design files and order lists. In our laboratory, we have the infrastructure to simulate production processes and seamlessly expand communication between the systems.

Our research group

Our partners are the users of IT, factory and automation networks in industry and business. We ensure dependable and secure connections from your machinery to the cloud-based central server – regardless of whether it’s an industrial bus or a WLAN.

For the robots, we use our own platform, which utilises ROS2 and has a modular design. We work with OPC UA for the interfaces between the systems.

Areas of expertise

  • Applications with collaborative robotics
  • Cross-vendor communication with OPC UA
  • Skill-based assembly with a ROS2 platform
  • Artificial intelligence for assembly processes
