Range of services

Our interdisciplinary research team plans and provides end-to-end ICT solutions for Switzerland’s e-society.

We would be happy to advise you.

Possible forms of collaboration

We are heavily involved in national and international research projects. In this way, we aim to make new findings and innovations from research available to industry and business.

Contract research

You give us a research assignment and we develop a scientifically sound and practice-orientated solution - at standard rates. This enables you to bring competitive products and services to market quickly.

Student projects

Projects can be carried out in collaboration with our students in the form of a project or thesis. The students are bound to a curriculum. One of the advantages of this form is that students and business partners can familiarise themselves with the subject matter. The work is supervised by experienced lecturers.

Our labs

Our labs provide space for research, innovation and practical collaboration. Students, researchers and business partners benefit from ideal conditions to analyse potential opportunities and develop new approaches. This is how we create the basis for forward-looking projects in both academic and practical applications.

Business Lab

The Business Lab innovates through research, lecturing and application-led projects in future-oriented fields – it plays a key role in the development of projects in the Business Engineering specialisation.
There is a culture of cooperation in the creative and modern workplace environment which is fostered by methods, tools and technologies. A wide range of software and hardware solutions are available to students for their application projects. The Business Lab gives students an ideal grounding for their future working environment through application-oriented learning and a high degree of individual responsibility.

Circular Economy Lab

The Circular Economy Lab at Bern University of Applied Sciences supports organisations on their path to a circular economy and sustainability. With powerful analyses at product, supply chain and system level, we provide data-based insights and technologies for sustainable transformations.

Generative AI Lab

The Generative AI Lab at BFH is an innovative research centre dedicated to researching and developing the capabilities of artificial intelligence in the creation of new content such as text, images and music. The areas of application are diverse and include, for example, health, well-being, industry, art and communication.

Industry Lab

Together with a leading industry partner, a production plant was developed combining state-of-the-art components, flexibility and future-oriented technologies. Students experience automation up close and gain their first experience in the world of industrial production, providing excellent preparation for their future career paths.

The Industry Lab is available to students as a training and research facility. The Industry Lab contains a physical production plant through which students can experience, design and develop cyber-physical systems of Industry 4.0. The emphasis is placed on automation, robotics and production data acquisition.
