Biography
- Arlene von Aesch is a Swiss-Kiwi researcher (currently PhD student) and physiotherapist based in Switzerland. She achieved her BSc in Physiotherapy with Honours from Otago University (2014) and gained her MSc in Sports Physiotherapy at Bern University of Applied Sciences (2022).
Over the past 11 years she has worked in private physiotherapy clinics in New Zealand and Switzerland, treating patients, recreational athletes and professional athletes with a large range of injuries and pain conditions. Her areas of special interest are physiotherapy management of low back pain, knee injuries and pain (particularly anterior cruciate ligament injuries) and women's health issues impacting their participation in, or impacted by, sport. Her PhD is focused on exploring the temporal trajectories of low back pain to increase understanding of the condition and as a result improve the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic low back pain.
