Direct membership Alumni direct

BFH alumni, lecturers and teaching associates can apply for a direct membership with Alumni BFH.

With ‘Alumni direct’, you will expand your network and benefit from exclusive advantages – even if your division does not have its own alumni organisation.

Direct members can also address directly their questions regarding alumni work to the board of the umbrella organisation. The contact person is the ‘Alumni direct’ delegate, Marc Germann, who can be reached at alumni@bfh.ch).

Alumni direct membership models

There are two membership models:

Alumni direct Plus (CHF 50 per year)

A discount on certain continuing education programmes at BFH, access to discounted hardware at Project Neptun and early bird access to events organised by the umbrella organisation Alumni BFH. In addition, direct members automatically become members of FH Schweiz, which offers many other benefits.

Alumni direct Premium (CHF 150 per year)

All the advantages of the ‘Alumni direct Plus’ membership, an invitation to an exclusive cocktail with the presidents and representants of the umbrella organisation and of the sub-organisations of Alumni BFH during the networking night, free admission to an alumni event organised by the umbrella organisation and access to ‘fhconnect’, the comprehensive directory of FH Schweiz with the contact details of around 80,000 UAS graduates.

Alumni direct FAQ

There are two separate memberships available:

Alumni direct Plus (CHF 50 per year)

Members of ‘Alumni direct Plus’ benefit from the alumni discount on certain continuing education programmes, other discounts (e.g. Project Neptun) and early bird access to events organised by the umbrella organisation Alumni BFH. Furthermore, they automatically become members of FH Schweiz*, the national umbrella organisation for graduates of universities of applied sciences (UAS), thus benefitting from additional discounts (link to German site) (excluding access to ‘fhconnect’).

Alumni Direct Premium (CHF 150 per year)

In addition to the services provided by the ‘Alumni direct Plus’ package, ‘Premium’ members are invited to an exclusive networking cocktail during the networking night and have free access once per year to a select alumni event organised by the umbrella organisation Alumni BFH. Premium membership also includes access to the comprehensive directory of FH Schweiz with contact details of around 80,000 UAS graduates (‘fhconnect’).

 

*The automatic membership to FH Schweiz includes the following benefits:

  • A wide range of discounts (link to German site), e.g. on health insurance and car rental companies
  • Representation of interests in the field of education policy
  • the online magazines ‘Inline’ (twice a year) and ‘eSpecial’ (three times a year)
  • Access to events organised by FH Schweiz
  • Exclusively for premium members: personal login for the ‘fhconnect’ platform, access to the national network of FH Schweiz.
  • All BFH alumni. In other words, anyone who has completed a course of study or a continuing education programme at BFH and would like to become part of the umbrella organisation BFH Alumni.
  • BFH lecturers, teaching associates or assistants who are active in teaching.

Membership of the alumni group ‘Alumni direct’ is primarily aimed at alumni who cannot find a (suitable) alumni organisation in their division or school. However, membership is open to all alumni who have completed a course of study or a continuing education programme at BFH.

No, dual membership is not possible.
