Biografie
- Seit anfangs 2012 ist Thomas Brunner Professor für Konsumentenverhalten an der Berner Fachhochschule im Studiengang Food Science & Management. Zuvor war er an der ETH Zürich als Senior Researcher in der Gruppe Consumer Behavior und beim LINK Institut für Markt- und Sozialforschung im Bereich Consumer Research tätig.
Studiert hat Thomas Brunner Psychologie an der Universität Basel, wo er auch seine Dissertation im Bereich Entscheidungsfindung geschrieben hat. Mit Konsumentenverhalten beschäftigt er sich aber schon seit seiner Lizentiatsarbeit, bei der er die Zufriedenheit von Kunden des Nachtzugs CityNightLine erhoben hat.
Seit seiner Zeit beim LINK Institut fokussiert er seine Forschungs- und Lehrtätigkeit auf das Konsumentenverhalten in Bezug auf Lebensmittel. Mittels experimenteller Forschung geht er der Frage nach, wie die Umgebung einer Person deren Konsummenge beeinflusst. Daneben führt er umfassende schweizweite Umfragen durch und untersucht beispielsweise das Konsumentenverhalten in Bezug auf Lebensmittelverschwendung, Fleisch & Fleischreduktion, Wertschätzung gegenüber Lebensmitteln oder generell im Bereich gesunder und nachhaltiger Ernährung.
