My family because I was far away from home. Luckily, all the master students were coming all around the world, so we became a BFH family.
Wie sieht deine aktuelle berufliche Tätigkeit aus?
Organizing, planning, and time to time work in the lab.
Was fasziniert dich an deinem Beruf/deiner Tätigkeit?
That you need to go further, beyond the state of the art, and try to improve things, step by step.
Du hast durch die Modifikation von nachhaltigem einheimischem Holz einen neuen Werkstoff entwickelt, der den Tropenhölzern in Aussehen und Eigenschaften ähnlich ist. Was sind die wichtigsten Erkenntnisse deiner Master-Arbeit und was sind die nächsten Schritte?
The most important was that the process was successful, that combination of colouration and densification is working. Still, there is a lot of work and research that needs to be done, but step by step. We go further with the project and working on the application of the coloured densified wood.
Du hast mit der WoDens-Technologie den «First Venture»-Förderbeitrag der Gerbert Rüf Stiftung gewonnen. Was bedeutet dir diese Auszeichnung?
This award means a lot to me because it is in a way a confirmation for all my work until now. It means that other people see potential in the idea, appreciate and support it. That gives me the courage to go further.
Bist du Mitglied in einer Alumni-Organisation? Was ist für dich ein Mehrwert der Alumni-Arbeit an Hochschulen?
For me, that is very important, because as the saying: it is not important what you know, but who you know. And in my eyes, in the end, we are all connected somehow through BFH which makes everything easier for collaboration, work, advice, contacts etc.
Welchen Rat gibst du künftigen und aktuellen Studierenden mit auf den Weg?
Sounds like cliché: do your best in whatever you work, but the most important at the end of the day is to be happy.
Was machst du in deiner Freizeit?
I am in love with the nature in Switzerland ? and I try as much as possible to go hiking and enjoy the beauty of nature.
