Situation
The Swiss Forum for International Agricultural Research (SFIAR) is an informal multi-stakeholder group bringing together Swiss institutions and private individuals with an interest in agricultural research for developing countries. The principal aims of SFIAR are to facilitate information exchange and promote dialogue and collaboration among stakeholders involved in agricultural research for development (ARD) in Switzerland, as well as to enhance the visibility of Swiss ARD. Further objectives include assuming an advocacy role and fostering partnerships with international organisations. The HAFL Hugo P. Cecchini Institute has entered into a strategic partnership with SFIAR. BFH-HAFL manages the SFIAR secretariat and provides key services, including the operation of the SFIAR website as an information platform on Swiss ARD, the management of the SFIAR Award for innovative agricultural research for development, and the organisation of SFIAR meetings, along with general secretariat support.
